Emery's 5th Birthday

Somehow Emery has turned 5 years old. I am seriously having MAJOR issues with the fact that my last baby is already 5. My sweet and spicy baby has turned into a sweet and spicy big girl halfway through PreK and headed to Kindergarten. I really don't know how this happened:)

We had her party the Saturday before her birthday. My parents were able to be here that weekend because my dad had a conference here that week. Having family here for birthdays is so special since we are so far away now.

We do a big party one year and a family only party one year and this year was her big party and she wanted to invite everyone in her class, as well as a few others. We had it at a pottery painting studio. I did regrets only on the invitation and only a couple of people replied, but I was still shocked when we had 24 kids there!! It was crazy and chaotic like any 5 year old party, but a little crazier since there was pottery and paint everywhere. It was a super fun party and Emery had a blast!

Emery doesn't like cake so we did brownies instead.

Meyers's ear was bothering her a little, but she was a trooper at the party. By that night, she was pitiful and then her eardrum ruptured!

We spent the next couple of days like this. My mom flew home on Sunday and John flew out for work that same day. I was so thankful my dad was here to help keep Emery company while we snuggled:)

Her actual birthday

I was the guest reader on Emery's actual birthday. Meyers's ear was better and she went back to school that day. Meyers has specials during that time so I grabbed her to come over to read a book to Emery's class.

Emery got the stomach bug the night of her birthday. My dad had left that morning to go home and John was still out of town. Oh my word! We had a doozy of a week - ruptured eardrums and stomach bug.

Emery spent the next day on the couch. I looked over at her and realized her one year picture was on the wall behind her:)

24 hours later and she was feeling MUCH better!

I was so proud of my girl for writing 20+ thank you notes!! Pretty good for a brand new 5 year old:)

Christmas and the Week After

There was a time mix up (on my part) with our Christmas Eve service, so we last minute went to the service at the girls' old preschool. We have friends that go to church there. At first, I was so stressed and upset because I messed up the time, but it ended up being such a happy accident. The girls loved seeing their friends and we were even able to get a last minute reservation at a restaurant closer to our house. The new plan came together in about 30 minutes and it was perfect!

We went to dinner afterwards and it was so good!

Christmas morning - Santa came!!

One of these years, we'll get a Christmas morning picture that's not crazy:)

We switched to the stairs to get away from the sun!

Since we've moved, we do Christmas morning at our house and then we get on the road around noon to drive halfway to Memphis. This is the girls at the hotel on the way to dinner. We had dinner, came back to the hotel, slept and then got up to head to Memphis.

We were able to get out for a date night with David and Jennifer. We went to Southern Social and it was so good!

The next night, I got to catch up with my girlfriends at Babalu and then we saw Peter Pan.

Jennifer was in town from Nebraska and we finally got to see each other! It's been 3+ years since I've seen her!

Georgia was playing in the Liberty Bowl. We never get to go see games with my parents, so we were so glad to be able to do that. And they won so it was even better:)

We headed home the next day stopping halfway again and finally made it home New Years Day. It was a busy and fun week!!
