The girls had their Orientation Day today for preschool. Meyers is going to school three days a week this year, and Emery is going one day. They got to meet their teachers and play in their classrooms. Meyers just got dropped off for an hour at hers since she's a big kid, but I had to stay with Emery during hers since she's little. They both had so much fun - Meyers told me she did and she told me all of the rules they learned in that short hour. And Emery played HARD during her time in the classroom. She had a few meltdowns, but overall she was good. Meyers has loved going to preschool, and I can tell Emery is going to love it as well. The thing I am going to have to figure out is handling Emery on the days that she is not in school. That girl kicked, screamed, and fought me until I let her down while we were picking up Meyers. And then she proceeded to run down the hall away from me dodging people and running into other classrooms. When I was able to catch her - yes, I was that mom today - she fell out in the floor and continued to kick and scream all the way out of the building (that was mostly quiet). So I was that mom again carrying out a screaming child. I'll need a plan this year. My friend, Lauren, suggested suckers. She said when she starts screaming, give her a sucker and that should keep her quiet until I can get out of the building at least. I think I'm going to take that advice:)
