First Day of Preschool

Today was Meyers's first day of preschool.

I can not believe it! I know that most children have been going to daycare or some sort of Mother's Day Out since they were much younger than her. But Meyers has only been to the church or mops nursery.

So today was a BIG day!

I know from teaching that it is so nice to feel appreciated by the parents, so I made her two teachers a "back to school survival kit".

They were filled with cookies, candy, mints, shout wipes, advil, chap stick, a travel toothbrush, and I also wrote a little note to put in each thanking them for taking care of my sweet girl this year.

Here is Meyers's cute lunch box! I found it at the Pottery Barn Outlet. I ordered her the bento box from Pottery Barn. I was hoping that it would make it easier for her to eat her lunch.

John laughed at me for taking a picture of her lunch. I had the camera downstairs, so I thought "why not?". Meyers might want to see her lunch one day:) I am sure the "novelty" of fixing her lunch will wear off soon!

Here is our sweet girl this morning before school. Her school doesn't let them have backpacks. I was so excited to use the one that Elizabeth gave her, but that will have to be used for sleepovers.

The school said that we could buy one of their tote bags for them to use, but I was not having that! She has to carry a cute bag, right?? So I made this one, and I'm kind of obsessed with it. I found the cute pattern here and modified it.

I had planned for Meyers to wear a cute dress, but it was sooooo cool this morning. So we had to dig around in our spring things and find this to wear.

She had a great first day! She did not nap, which I expected. But she did lay on her bed the whole time.

This is what her lunch looked like when we got home today. Can you tell a difference from the first picture??? I think she pretty much ate fruit snacks for lunch. Apparently she did drink out of a small paper cup because her sippy cup was not used!

I think she is ready to go back next week!
