Emery - You are four months old today!
Okay, so I thought you weighed 14.8 pounds last month on our home scale. I weighed and then I weighed holding you. I guess I messed up because right now you are weighing about the same as you did last month and you are definitely chunkier now. We will see how much you weigh at the doctor when we go next week.
You are mostly in 6m clothing, some 9m and a few 12m (kissy kissy runs so small!)
You are still in size 2 diapers, and we have switched you to Target diapers. We switched your sister at 6 months, but would have done it sooner if we had known how much we like Target diapers.
Depending on what time you wake up, you are getting 4 (or 5) 7 oz bottles. If you get up late (8:00 - it's rare, but it's happened), then you get 4 - 7 oz bottles and then a 3-4 oz bottle right before bed to get your ounces in.
You still spit up. I hate covering up your sweet outfits with plastic bibs:)
You normally go to bed around 10:00 pm and sleep until 6:00 or 7:00 am. You started doing that around 3 months, but you have had some random nights lately where you wake up around 5:00 am:(
We get you back down and then you will sleep until 7:00 or 8:00.
After talking with the girls at book club last month, aluminum foil on your windows was suggested. Since you were sleeping good at night, but not so much with naps we figured the reason you weren't staying asleep for naps was because it was too bright (even though you have a black out roman shade). Yes, it's totally crazy and maybe a little redneck, but it's working (at least your room is on the back of the house!). Well the first day I did it, you napped for 2+ hours. That had never happened until then. You would nap, but only in our arms or in the bjorn.
We got past the napping situation - which was HUGE, but the screaming in the carseat was making us all BANANAS - to put it nicely. We did get you a "big girl" carseat rear-facing, and you watch Baby Signing Time on my Kindle. Riding in the car now is like night and day. You are a different child. You will occasionally fuss, but nothing like the SCREAMING you were doing. It's kind of a three ring circus when we go somewhere because you are not in an infant carrier. A friend from MOPS suggested leaving the carrier in the back of the car for when we go to restaurants and things like that. So that's what we do and it's complicated, but it's worth you not screaming in the car!
You started rolling over around 3.5 months. You roll both ways, all the time and you are all over the place. This is much different than your sister, so this is new to us. You are done with any bouncy seat, even though you really never loved them to begin with. You try to propel yourself backwards out of the bumbo, so we are done with that. You like the jumperoo and the exersaucer, but still only for a limited amount of time.
Your hands are ALWAYS in your mouth. You are drooling like crazy. I'm guessing teeth may be in your future soon.
You are still a very high maintenance baby. You like to be held and need my constant attention. Unfortunately, you are not the only child around here:), so you cry a lot and I'm still wearing you to keep you pacified. It's hard on my back, but easier on my arms!
Only smiley picture I got!
This one is from about a week before.
And here is Meyers wearing it when she was 4 months!
Beth, she is such a pretty baby girl....beautiful! She has gorgeous eyes and her skin is so sweet looking....she is just a precious little baby in every way! I love the pics of her with her fingers in her mouth! I know it is probably every mother's nightmare because of germs, but it sure is cute otherwise! Thanks for posting all of these pictures and updates....it is so much fun to read them and watch them grow up, which they are doing way too fast if I might add! You have two beautiful girls, just like their Mama!
