Meyers's Spring Preschool Program

**These pictures look funny because I have blurred out the school name. My blog is not private, and I am not about to put where my child goes to preschool on the internet. It's sad that you have to think that way. The other children's faces are blurred because I don't know their parents and didn't want to put them on my blog without permission. I'm weird like that, but I always try to ask people if they mind, and I don't know them to ask.

Meyers had her spring program at preschool this weekend. Um......it may have been one of the cutest things ever! It was her first time to be in anything like this, and I know there will be many more in the future, but experiencing it for the first time was super fun!

I gotta admit that I was a little bummed when I got the letter home saying that they had to wear their school t-shirt and whatever pants, shorts, etc. that they want. I had already been thinking about what outfit I would want her to wear for the program, but apparently that wasn't necessary. I wanted her to look cute and match, so I made her these ruffled capris to match her shirt.

Meyers only goes to school one day a week. The music teacher sent a letter home asking/suggesting that you bring your child to the other practices if they are not at school on those days. So this week, I got to watch her practice two days. She didn't really do much those days except clap, which I was fine with. I just didn't want her to cry. I could care less if she sang and did the motions. I was going to be proud if she went up there like a big girl and just sat.

Well.......she must have been saving her performance for the show because she turned it on. She didn't do a whole lot of singing, but she did as many motions as you can expect kids her age to do......sometimes a little off (as you can see in the picture above, but so were some other children:)).

Maybe my hormones are still a little crazy from having Emery, but I totally almost cried at parts! I was just so proud of her for getting up there and participating (and having fun!). It was a huge reminder that she is not my baby anymore. She's a big girl that goes to "school" and has this whole little world there without me where she listens to her teachers and learns new things and plays with friends that I don't know.
There was this one moment around the middle of their performance (we were totally being the obnoxious, cheesy parents and waving so she could see us) where she looked out and finally saw us, and her face lit up and she got the HUGEST smile on her face! Oh, it was precious! I tried to take a mental picture of that moment because it melted my heart!

The four of us after her "performance" - Emery is in the sling even though you can't see her:)

  1. Good Job Meyers! When Landon was that age, he would sink into his shirt on stage!
