Memorial Day Weekend - Part 1

My cousin got married the Saturday before Memorial Day in Atlanta. We were kind of dreading the drive down. Emery actually did okay. She had a few "episodes" of screaming, but for the most part, she was good. I rode in the backseat between the two honking huge carseats, so that was super fun. I do hope that one day, I will be able to ride in the front seat with my husband on car trips. That's what makes being in the car for so long enjoyable, but I'm not sure when Emery will let that happen:) We caravaned with my parents. Halfway down, Meyers rode with them. That kind of helped because Emery would fall asleep, and Meyers would get excited and say something loud and Emery would wake up. Meyers also slept both nights in the hotel with my parents. That was HUGE because it helped Emery sleep ALL night both nights. She is sleeping good at home, but traveling always threw Meyers off, even when she was a baby. I was so glad that Emery didn't realize she wasn't in her own bed!

My pictures are so random! I was way better at capturing moments with one child:)

John feeding Emery at the hotel. I wanted to document her first hotel stay, and this is the only one I got!
Only picture of the four of us at the wedding - Emery is in the sling!

Meyers had lots of fun dancing! She has never been to a wedding before. I'm sort of anti-children at weddings. You just never know what they are going to do. I don't want my girls to ruin somebody's day they've been dreaming about since they were little because they decide to have a meltdown. Since we were out of town, Meyers and Emery had to come, and they were great!

Emery took two naps - one during the wedding and one at the reception. It still wasn't her usual schedule, so she lost her mind after the wedding. I did, too, a little. There was crying involved for both of us! That's what a long day and not much food will do to me! At least it was after the wedding:)

My parents had my camera for a lot of the reception. I was terrible at getting pictures. I don't even have any of my cousin and her new husband! John and I love to dance, so there were a billion pictures of us dancing. Those usually aren't too attractive, so I deleted most of them:)

My parents helped with Emery, so we could dance and have fun with Meyers!

 Meyers LOVED the bubbles!

John and me - can't believe our 10 year anniversary is this year! Geez! Seems like we were just getting married!

  1. Would you please share where you got your dress from? It's as cute as can be! I found your blog through a friend of a friend, I think, and your girls are adorable! I'm a mom of kids in smocking, too!

    1. Thanks! I liked it a lot, too. But I don't love it on me in pictures. Don' you hate when that happens:) I got it at Francesca's. Not sure where you live or if you are familiar with that store. Not sure if you would be able to find it, though. They get like one dress, shirt, etc in 3 sizes and when it's gone, it's gone. It's nice because you don't see everybody wearing the same thing as you, but bad when you want something and they don't have it anymore!

Thanks, though! You made my day since I thought I looked a little frumpy and like I have a one month old in it and not a four month old:)
