Busy and Fun Weekend

Since Saturday was the 1st, we did the first thing on our Advent Calendar - Sweet Treats with Santa. It was adorable! The kids got to decorate a cookie, decorate a plate for Santa's cookies on Christmas Eve, make jewelry, sit on Santa's lap, write a letter to Santa and "mail" it (and Santa will be calling us in two weeks to talk to Meyers!), make ornaments, roast marshmallows and make smores, make reindeer food, and go on a sleigh (hay) ride. All that for $20 per family. Oh, and the crepe maker was there, too, but we didn't get one. They looked yummy, though! It was a fun way to start this Christmas season!

finally! Emery is out of the sling and made it into some pictures:)

I could eat them up!!!

loving the swing!

Swinging girls! Meyers is terrified of regular swings because she fell out of one last fall. I'm pretty sure that traumatized her!

I think Meyers had the most fun on the playground because that was far away from Santa!

On the "sleigh"' ride

We had church on Sunday, and that's always a crazy, busy morning, but it was even more so because I decorate my church for Christmas. I had a few last minute wreaths to hang and a few other things to do before church started. Thankfully my mom came to help, so it was a little less stressful.

After church, we grabbed lunch because we had NO food at home. John LOVES to go out to eat after church on Sunday, even when we have plenty of food at home. I sometimes try to be practical and tell him we should go home, so he was happy when I said we had to eat lunch out on Sunday:) When we got home, I got Meyers changed so she could go to a birthday party for a friend at school, and John got Emery down for her nap. Meyers had SO much fun! She is normally a little hesitant at bouncy things, and if anything, she will just sit in them. She was super brave and played like she was a pro at bouncy houses!

Fuzzy picture, but I had to document her actually standing in one of these!

She kept wanting me to watch her; she was so proud of herself:)

After the birthday party, we came home and my parents came over to watch the girls so we could go to a Christmas party for the youth workers at church. We had a fun time with friends and eating yummy barbecue! I was SO tired last night - it was a long day!

before we left for the party - one sided sister loving!
