Easter 2014

 Our morning started at 5:15 when Meyers came in our room. I looked at the clock and told her to jump in our bed and go back to sleep. We fell back asleep until about 7:30 or so when Emery woke up. Meyers was super excited to go check out her Easter basket. The bunny went a little overboard this year. I think he must be a little scatterbrained and had forgotten somethings that he'd stashed away for the girls:)

This whistle was a big hit!

After Easter baskets, we got ready for church. Church was great this morning. I have missed the last two Sundays for nursery duty and being sick, so it was nice to be in church.  I'm always thankful for Jesus' death on the cross, but it's so special to celebrate His resurrection on Easter Sunday. We sang "This is Amazing Grace" this morning at church and these lyrics have been on my heart all day.

"This is amazing grace
This is unfailing love
That You would take my place
That You would bear my cross
You laid down Your life
That I would be set free
Jesus I sing for all that You've done for me"

After church, we went to my parents for lunch. We took pictures while we waited for my brother's family to get there. I'm actually surprised any of these turned out (and some didn't). Getting a picture with everyone smiling and looking the right way and eyes all open is so stressful! The ones of all of us turned out okay but my autofocus was off and the girls were done by the time I realized it. Oh, and we didn't plan to coordinate, but we did somehow! I've had the girls' dresses for a year, John had been wanting some pink pants, and I bought my dress for our Aruba trip and decided to wear it for Easter. A happy accident!

After lunch, the kids hunted eggs, and they are some great hunters because they ALL won in their ages division:) It was nap time for Emery, so I was going to lay down with her to get her to nap. John decided that sounded like a good idea. Meyers played with her cousins while the three of us napped. Perfect!

After Emery woke up, we went to John's parents for dinner. More yummy food and another egg hunt. No pictures to document it though:) I was just telling them tonight that we need to be better about taking group family pictures, so maybe next time!
