We went to a furniture store the other night to look for Meyers a new dresser. Since we are not finding out what the baby is, the new baby will get all of Meyer's furniture and bedding (it's all gender neutral), and Meyers is getting new big girl furniture. We are keeping her in a crib for now, but that's another story for another time.
Anyway, we went to look and ended up buying because they were doing a $250 store gift card giveaway, as well as 20% off your price for donating $20 to the food bank. I don't know if the sales guy rigged it or what, but I won the gift card. The catch with the gift card and 20% off was that they had to be used that evening.
So it was a huge blessing that we happened to go that night because we got her furniture for a good bit cheaper.
Here is where the pregnancy brain/into everything toddler comes in. The next morning, I go to put something in my wallet, and I can't find it anywhere. I kind of panic. Other than having my wallet stolen, I've never not known where my wallet was. John helped me remember that Meyers was playing with it on the bed at the furniture store. I've gotten into the bad habit of letting her play with my wallet. It entertains her for some reason. We will not be doing that anymore.
I called the store, and the girl said that no one had turned anything in. I told her exactly where we were the night before and after a few minutes on hold, she told me she found it. Whew! I was so relieved! Apparently, it was right where Meyers left it, and no one had even seen it. Thank goodness!!
So I think it's a little bit of both.....pregnancy brain and an into everything toddler:)
These are pictures of Meyers playing around in the store's car strollers. What a great idea! Definitely kept her entertained. And they also had a play gym that was pretty neat, too!

Great story! I'm sure it was frustrating, but it's funny to tell now:) Did you get the furniture you e-mailed me? I had a hard time viewing it from my phone, and completely forgot to check on my desktop. I can't wait to see pictures of Meyers's big girl room!
ReplyDeleteLove that play area at that store - best idea ever for who thought of that - I keep going back there just so the kids are occupied while I shop! Thank goodness your wallet was found!
