Nine Months

 Emery - You are 9 months old!!!

 You weigh 22.1 pounds = 95%

You are 27 3/4 inches long = 50%

Your head measures 18 inches around = 95%

So......apparently we (by we, I mean me) have been letting you eat too much. I guess I was in toddler mindset like with your sister. If Meyers is eating, we don't stop her because that girl hardly eats. You, on the other hand, are a baby and won't necessarily feel full even when you are. Although, you do stop eating, so I was just thinking you were really hungry. Dr. Catherine wasn't concerned about your weight in numbers, but that you jumped two percentiles. You were in the 75th percentile for weight. So we are working on portion control - that sounds funny when I say it and when I type it - for you:) I love a chunky baby, though! But we thought Meyers was a chunky baby, and she weighed about 21.5 pounds at her ONE YEAR check up.

Your size 3 diapers are too little, and we are about to move you to size 4.

You are a good eater (as stated above!). You will eat just about anything we put in front of you. We are not used to that.

You are on the same bottle schedule, but I'm thinking that might change soon. You are not wanting to finish your bottles. It's like you think you are a big girl, and you don't want it anymore:)

You cruise everywhere and usually you only use one finger for balance! You are standing up by yourself, and will stand for 20 or 30 seconds until you realize it.

We usually still rock you to sleep, but the last couple of weeks, you just want to play while we rock. So I've started putting you in the bed awake. You cry for a minute, and then you fall asleep on your own. Big girl! 

You now have 4 teeth on the top and 3 on the bottom.


I can not even remember if I've blogged about you getting a cold and having to do breathing treatments. That was about a month ago. So at your 9 month appointment, you had another little cold, and I thought you were wheezing a little. You were - so Dr. Catherine put you on an everyday preventative medicine through the nebulizer. Just for the record, I am SO not enjoying wrestling with you for each of your treatments. You are not a fan. You'll sit still for a minute, but then you start wiggling around like a wild bear! I'm not sure what I'm going do do with these asthma genes your daddy passed onto you and your sister:)

You say da-da all the time, but you are just babbling:)

You are so sweet and giggly when you want to be. You have a big personality!

You are into everything!!!!!

 Emery - you are at such a fun age right now! It is so fun watching you explore and attempt to be independent. You are so very precious (even when you are throwing a fit!), and I just want to eat your chubby cheeks all day. We ALL love you so very much!
