No Pictures...Just Some Random Meyers Stuff

We asked Meyers where she wanted to go today.

"Ummmm......ballssss(she has a little lisp all of the sudden and that is how words with s come out)......target?"

Do you think we go to Target alot??? And do you think I say "ummm" a lot. She is such a little parrot. She loves to see the big red balls they have out in front of target. And I love to go to Target, so it's a win-win!

We have been putting Meyers on the potty about once a day for a while now. Nothing ever happens. Well... a few days ago (to both of our surprise), something came out! She tee teed on the potty!!!! Now I don't think we are even remotely close to being potty trained, but we were super excited. I'm hoping now she understands a little bit that that is why we sit on the potty, not just because it's so very fun (she loves it!)

When I'm looking for something or I tell Meyers to go look for something, she says "Yoo-Hoo (which comes out Ooo-Hoo), baby" or whatever it is she is looking for. She will hold one little hand up to her mouth when she does it. It's precious!

****************************************************************************************

For the longest time, she would say her name like this, "my-my". But just recently she has started saying "my-meyers" with a lisp with the s. Oh, I love that little lisp!!

****************************************************************************************

Meyers can not keep her finger out of her belly button!!! She pokes in there all day long! I know she just hates it when she is in a bubble and can't get to it! John says he used to do the same thing!

****************************************************************************************

She has been a talker, but has recently begun to communicate with us better by telling us exactly what she wants: "up, out, car, more (she used to just sign more, but now she says it, too) phish (that is how she says goldfish), and more. She is getting better at putting (tiny) sentences together: "I did, I think, there it is, more cards (her flashcards).

*****************************************************************************************

Just here recently, we have been asking her to get/find things for us and then to bring them to us like her toys or different flashcards or books. She is really great at following directions and brings us exactly what we ask for.

Meyers has to go to time out occasionally. It's usually for not listening or sometimes throwing a little hissy fit:) I warn her and tell her if she does it again that she will have to go to time out. If that doesn't work, I sit her in this one spot in our den (and one spot in our room upstairs) for about a minute. I know other kids can do this, but I am always amazed that she stays there the whole time. She just sits there quietly and looks around. It's actually really cute:)

****************************************************************************************

Meyers does not like it when John hugs or kisses me. She gets so jealous:) So we always pick her up and make a "meyers sandwich" group hug. She loves that!

*****************************************************************************************

She has been able to recognize her alphabet for a little while now. She had most of her letters down at about 22 months, but now she knows them all. Hobby Lobby is the best place to practice this. They have letters EVERYWHERE at that store! So we go through and have little mini lessons (it's the teacher in me!) So now, she has gotten really good at recognizing letters everywhere like on my memphis shirts or the "E" in our den or other places that have capital letters.

****************************************************************************************

Meyers says "thank you" all the time. She used to sign thank you, but it wasn't something we pushed with her. I guess I thought we would work on those manners later. I always say thank you to her for doing things, and I guess she just picked up on it. I'll give her milk or a snack, and she immediately says "tank uuuu". Some of the time we can get her to say "you're welcome" after we tell her thank you.

Here lately, we can not go anywhere near the dairy section without Meyers having a meltdown over the cheese. She thinks she needs it right then. At first, I fought it, but I figured is it really worth .40 or .50 cents to deal with the meltdown. So now, Meyers gets a snack thing of cheese when we are in that section, and I hand the wrapper to the check-out person for them to ring up. Never say never!!!!!
