Emery's First Time at Church

Most Sundays, I am a "single mom". John leaves early to help with the youth, and Meyers and I come later for church. For the last 5 or so weeks, John has gone to youth and then come home since we were not going to church yet - there are way too many germs at church for a newborn even not putting her in the nursery! Today was finally the day for our return to church. John said people were starting to think I had dropped off the face of the earth:) I told John that if we were all going to make it to church, then he would need to stay at home and not help in the youth this morning. I knew there was no way I could get me, Meyers, and Emery to church on time. We can get out and run errands all day on our own schedule, but when it comes to being on time somewhere, I haven't quite got that down yet with a baby and a toddler! John does think I'm super mom most of the time. He really thinks I can do anything - I guess that's a good thing. I think he thought that I didn't really need his help getting to church, but he skipped youth and helped me this morning.

Church starts at 10:30. What time did we walk in? About 10:50.

I think he now sees why I needed his help. It took two of us to get to church 20 minutes late! But we made it, and I'm so glad we did. When we were still scrambling to get us all ready at ten after, I told him we should just stay home because we were going to be so late. I'm glad John said no:)

Meyers making sure Emery is okay:)

I've told people before how I've never missed more church in my life than when we had Meyers. I went back to church when she was almost 6 weeks old. Then in the last three years, I stay home with her anytime she is sick or has cold symptoms. Because I was sick, we missed the first few weeks in January. We did go to church the Sunday before we had Emery, but we've missed the last seven weeks! I have missed church! I nearly cried all the way through worship because it was so good to be worshiping with other believers and be back at church! In the car (if Mickey Mouse is not on), I listen and sing along to my Passion CD (from 2011, I think -love this cd!!!), but it's not the same.

Sisterly love:)

I really wanted to get a family picture before church documenting Emery's first church visit, but seeing as how we were so very late, that didn't happen. I did get a few when we got home. Not that I ever thought taking pictures of two kids would be easy, but I am definitely seeing how hard of a task that is!

I love profile pictures and thought Meyers looked so sweet here.

Let's see if we can be on time next week!
