Two Months

Emery - you are two months old today!

Emery at one month.

Here are your two month stats:

weight: 12 pounds, 4 ounces (75th %)

length: 22.5 inches (25-50th%)

head: 15 3/4 inches (75-90%)

You are in size 1 diapers.

You are wearing size 0-3 months clothing mostly except for a few outfits and you can wear a bigger size (it's a brand that runs small).

You are eating 5.5 ounces of formula every three hours during the day. The past three nights you have gone about 7 hours without a bottle!!! That has been amazing because for the three weeks or so prior to this you were getting up at 2:00 and 5:00 am every night (wow! that was rough!). You have been sleeping until 5:00 am or so for the last three nights!

You are still spitting up.

You still love to be swaddled! It's like you know it's time to eat and then sleep when you are swaddled (at night!)

You have started talking and smiling in the last week or so.

At your one month visit, Dr. Catherine put you on Nutramigen formula. It is supposed to help with colic and milk allergies. It's very broken down and thin, so you were wanting to eat after about 1.5 hours. I started adding Gentlease formula to it to thicken it up, and that has helped. The doctor thinks that if you are tolerating that, then we should just be able to switch back to Gentlease full time.

You are still kind of "fiesty". At first we thought it was because you needed to poop, then the doctor thought you may have colic. I'm starting to think that you just needed some time to get adjusted to this world and your new environment. You have calmed down a lot. I can actually put you in the bouncy seat or on the playmat, and you'll sit there for 15(ish) minutes without screaming. I know that may not sound like a big deal, but it's huge compared to how it was a month or 6 weeks ago.

You are not a great napper during the day. You will fall asleep and stay asleep if we are out and about, but I can't get you to sleep at home unless I'm wearing you in the Bjorn or the sleepy wrap. We are going to work on this soon:)

Here is Meyers at 2 months.

Your hair still has a red tint to it, and some of it has fallen out a little. Your eyes were a darker blue, but they look a lot lighter here in the last month or so.

I have been so bad about getting my camera out to take pictures of you! I take so many on my phone because it's faster. I am so glad I got some pictures with my camera of you today. You didn't want to smile for me, but you were at least content while I snapped away.........
