Meyers - 3 Years Old

Meyers - you are three years old! You are:
  • Obsessed with lipgloss right now. You call it "your lips". You would keep it up to your lips constantly if I would let you.
  • Obsessed with the toy diaper bag that you got for Christmas. It just had diapers in it, but you've since added keys, a phone, AND your lip gloss. You carry it around the house, and you sometimes want to bring it in the car. But recently you've been wanting to bring it in the store, restaurant, etc., with you. At Kroger the other day, you started asking for your "lips", and I told you it was at home (because I thought it was). You looked into your diaper bag and pulled it out! I had no idea that you had stashed it in there.
  • Are equally a mama and daddy's girl. When you were little, it was all mama. But you are sharing the love now that you are getting older:) I love to see how excited you get when your daddy gets home!

  • Are so sweet to your baby sister. You have adjusted SO well to her. You are never jealous and love her to pieces. You always tell us how much you love her, how cute she is, how sweet she is, etc. It warms my heart that you are so in love with her! You ask for her first thing in the morning, and you always make sure we aren't leaving her at home when we are getting ready to go somewhere:) You are such a little mama!
  • Had some potty regression right before and after Emery was born, but you are doing much better now. You rarely have an accident. You still wear pull-ups at nap time and bed time.
  • Rarely take a nap anymore. Most days, you still "rest" in your bed, but you hardly ever fall asleep. I still think you need the sleep, but you just won't do it.

  • Only want to watch Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and Yo Gabba Gabba - like all the time! We are working on you understanding that you can not watch it all day long!
  • Love playing with your kitchen and reading books. You still love reading your Noah's Ark book, your Bible, Little Brown Bear, and Brown Bear, Brown Bear. When you read your Bible, you point out and name all the people on the front (Adam, Eve, Peter, Moses, David, Goliath, Zacheus, Jesus, and Noah). Your daddy told you who they all are, and I have no idea how you remember it, but you do. And it's pretty cute!
  • Can remember large chunks of your favorite Bible stories and parts of Little Brown Bear. You'll be "reading" by yourself, and I'll hear you telling the story. I know a lot of kids do this and you used to do it with short, one line board books, but I'm still surprised when I hear you do it with a longer story.
  • Weigh 29.5 pounds
  • Are 34.5 inches tall
  • Wear a size 6 shoe
  • Wear anywhere from a 12 month (in some dresses) to a 3t depending on the brand.

  • Love school.
  • Love your friends. It's really sweet to hear you talk about them and pray for them at night!
  • Tell on yourself. It's really funny. If you stand up on the couch while I'm in the kitchen or stand on the baby gate, for example, you tell me. Maybe you'll always do that.....even when you're a teenager:)
  • Talk about yourself in third person sometimes. I know you will grow out of this, but it's so cute. You don't call yourself Meyers, but when I ask you things like "Did you have a good day at school?" You'll say, "she did." I love it!
  • Answer with "I do", instead of just a yes. I'll ask you if you want to go to Target, Chick-fil-a, etc., and you'll say "I do want to go to Target!". It's so cute.
  • Are still very sweet-natured and laid-back, but you are getting fiestier and you will pitch little fits. They could be worse; that's why I'm calling them little:)
  • Are still a picky eater, but you are definitely branching out. You are actually wanting to try things we are eating. A few months ago, you never would have done that.

  • Still sleep in a crib and I'm keeping you in there until you show signs of jumping out!
  • Still love to be rocked, sung and read to at night.
  • Are still on a preventive inhaler and take singulair every day. You rarely need your albuterol inhaler. It is usually during the fall months when your asthma flairs up.
  • Always want to tell your friends or grandparents or daddy (if he's at work) what you did. For example, if you did something great like picked up your toys on your own or ate a good lunch or dinner, I'll make a big deal out of it. And you immediately say you want to tell daddy or mimi or gran or one of your friends what you did. It's really cute!

  • Love to help unload the dishwasher and help in the kitchen.
  • Love to swing, ride your motorized four wheeler (for leeler), push the little tikes car (the beep beep) and blow bubbles outside.
  • Are loving being in the double stroller with your sister. I can tell you think it's so fun to have somebody right beside you in the stroller. I normally don't buckle you in, especially places like the zoo where you will be getting in and out. Well now that you are in the double stroller with Emery and she is all buckled in, you want to be buckled in, too:)
  • Love to go anywhere, even just riding around in the car.
  • Call us by our first and last names sometimes.
  • Have the most expression when you talk sometimes and you talk in the funniest voices sometimes. It won't make sense in writing, but I think your daddy and me will always remember how you say "Hello, baby Emery. I love you." You do it in the funniest voice!

    Meyers,
We can't believe you are 3 already! It really does seem like you were just as tiny as your sister is now. Your daddy and I love you so very much! You continue to bring so much joy to our lives. You are such a precious, sweet girl that we thank God for everyday. I look forward to what the next year will be like with you - watching you grow, learn new things, become more independent (this makes me a little sad!), and to see your relationship with your sister blossom.

    We love you, monkey!

    Love,
    Mama and Daddy
