**Since I'm blogging from my phone while I rock Emery, the pictures are a little out of order. Gotta multitask!
We went to the mall today to buy a new oven and microwave at Sears. Our current beast of an oven is terrible, but I thought we would have to live with it until we could afford to gut the kitchen. Not only is it ugly (it looks like its 50 years old, but the paperwork on it says it was purchased in 1991. It does remind me of the oven at my grandma's house, so for that reason I'll be slightly sad to see it leave!), but it causes me to burn everything!! I am not a great cook, so I definitely don't need the oven working against me!
I did appreciate that it was a double oven. I've never had that before and I liked it. We really liked the double ovens that have two ovens on the bottom so that we could finally get a microwave that does not go on the counter. Samsung makes this fancy double oven that only has one door but has this thing you put inside if you want to cook two things at two different settings. I was so excited to find this because it's perfect for us since I won't always need two ovens, but it has the capability for when I do.
Even better is that John has these reward points at work which are going to help pay for a chunk of the purchase! This isn't anything remotely close to what we talked about doing with these points. It came out of the blue this week when I burned some brownies:), but I'm so excited!!! It will still be a good while before we can gut the kitchen, but all of our appliances are new and stainless steel now, and this will help ease the 80's on out of our kitchen! I think it may even help our lovely Formica "butcher block" counters look a little less terrible:)
We ate lunch at the mall and then headed out to leave. Meyers saw some kids jumping on those bungee bouncy things. We kept asking her if she wanted to do it. She didn't say yes at first, but she didn't say no. Finally she did say yes. I.WAS.SHOCKED. Anybody that knows Meyers knows that she is not a risk taker - ever! We paid the $7 for 4 minutes of jumping and asked if we got our money back if she freaked out at the harness alone - which is what I totally thought would happen.
She got on that trampoline and put on the bravest smile. I think she was a little scared, but she was being so brave. The girl was super sweet and only bounced her a little bit easing her into it. Meyers loved it! It was totally worth the $7, and actually I would have paid more to see our sweet girl who is so not a risk taker be brave and jump on that thing. I know this sounds crazy, but I seriously thought I was going to cry I was so proud of her. If you know Meyers and her personality, you know why I was SO proud of her!
Emery even sat there sweet (not screaming her head off!) and watched the whole thing!
What a fun Friday afternoon!
