Beach Trip 2013

So.........we went to the beach for a week.

Way back during the second week in April.

And for some reason, I am just now posting about it.

You would think that if you were so lazy as to not get your nice camera out of the car the entire week you were at the beach, that you could throw a beach post together pretty fast because of not having to sift through a gillion pictures. Guess not:) I tried to keep telling myself (on the way home when I was so sad that I didn't really have any pictures) that at least I was "in the moment",  not just taking pictures of the moment, but it was really just me being lazy. I didn't even realize that my camera wasn't stashed somewhere in the condo until we were packing up to leave and saw it in the car! Whoops!

Our friends, the Tillmans, invited us to go to the Destin with them. Someone let them use their fabulous condo for FREE, and we got to tag along. The condo was amazing! We always stay at nice places, but this was the nicest and biggest condo I've ever stayed in. There were 5 adults (our babysitter who is also Jennifer's little sister came too) and 4 kids and we never felt crowded at all. Having two kids at the beach was definitely harder, but we kind of figured it out after the first day. Meyers had not been to the beach since she was a baby, and this was Emery's first trip.

So here are the very few pictures I was able to get on my phone and a couple pictures that Jennifer took with her camera that actually document that our entire family did go to the beach.

I'm still kind of sad that I don't have any family or even sister beach pictures!! You know that they had a different bathing suit for everyday that matched, and I have no pictures of it:( Emery didn't spend a ton of time down at the beach - usually for only an hour or so in the morning before John would take her back up, and I would stay down there a little longer with Meyers. Then Meyers and I would go in for a late lunch, stay in the condo while Emery napped, and John would go down later in the afternoon.

We did what we always do at the beach - daytime at the beach, lunch at the condo, dinner out every night, and of course one outlet shopping mall day. It was perfect! We had dance parties just about every night after we got home from dinner. The kids thought that was super fun! One night, we even had mini trucker hats to wear for the party. Katharine, our sitter, is so great with my kids. Meyers thinks she is the best! A long time ago, Katharine was feeding my girls (turkey and cheese because that's a lunch staple around here) and started saying "turkey and cheese" in this crazy voice that cracked them up. Meyers has not forgotten it. So basically Meyers would walk up to Katharine a bunch of times a day and say "turkey and cheese" in this silly voice.

We went to the Red Bar the last night, and it was our favorite meal!!! It was sooooooo good! I'm so glad Jen brought her camera so we could take a group picture.

Now I'm trying to talk John into going back soon so I can get my beach pictures! I am never leaving my camera in the car again:)
