Atlanta: Part 3 - Dwarf House and Braves Game

After spending a week with Jessica, it was time for the last part of our vacation to begin. John drove down and picked us up. His parents and grandma came that day, as well. His sister, brother-in-law, and nephew came the next day. We stayed at a hotel in Buckhead. His family was tired from driving, and I was tired from being a single mom all week., so we grabbed a quick dinner and called it a night. The next day, we all went to the Dwarf House.

I have childhood memories of going to the Dwarf House in Hapeville, which is not far outside of Atlanta. The Dwarf House is where Chick-Fil-A started. It's neat because they have the regular food that you would find at Chick-Fil-A, but they also other menu items like vegetables (I had some serious mac and cheese this visit!!) and pie. Whenever John and I go down to Atlanta, we always try to go the Dwarf House. We wanted to show his family this neat place. Some of these pictures are terrible! I was trying to "learn" my camera and shoot manual only.

Here is Meyers at the tiny, little door.

All of us outside the door. I have a picture of John and I in front of the door from years ago, but I couldn't find it.

My cousin and aunt met us at the Dwarf House.

After we stuffed our faces, we went back to the hotel to nap...all of us. I love vacation because it makes you feel like you can nap without feeling guilty:) We went to a Braves game that night. My aunt (the one above) got us 8 free tickets AND free valet parking. Yes, valet parking. It was probably the highlight of the game for me. Instead of paying a $15 for parking and having to truck it a long way with a 2 year old and John's 88 year old grandmother, we were able to pull up, get out of the car, and walk maybe 100 yards into the stadium. If I was a super blogger, I would have thought to get out my camera and document this fanciness, but I'm not!

John and I decided it would be easier and more enjoyable for us to sit down and eat, instead of having to juggle food and Meyers, so we ate at the Chophouse. We walked right in and got a great table minutes before the game started. We were able to eat and watch the beginning of the game.

This was so fun! We had great seats and the weather could not have been better.

John and Meyers cheering for the Braves!

After we ate some yummy food, we made our way to our seats. The seats were awesome! We had to pay close attention to the game because we were in foul ball territory.

Meyers loved the game! She loved cheering.

We tried to get her on the big screen, but it didn't happen:(

We grabbed a picture of the three of us before we left. Even though Meyers was having fun and being so good, we thought we should probably leave early since it was way past her bedtime. When we left, we had barely walked out of the stadium and the valet guy came running up to John to get his ticket and had our car waiting for us by the time we got to the curb. They also had water for us, too. I don't think I will ever be able to go to a sporting event again without thinking about the fancy schmancy valet parking experience!

The whole crew before the game started.

It was such a fun day!!

  1. I'm so glad y'all had fun in part two of your Atlanta trip. I'm jealous of your VIP Braves treatment.
