Um....yes, I am still doing posts on our Atlanta trip nearly one month later. Thankfully this is the last one!
Let me just start by saying that I don't like fish. I'll go in the ocean, think happy thoughts like "fish are not near me" when I (very occasionally) swim in the lake, but if I saw a fish near me, I would probably freak out. I just think they are kind of gross and some of them are gross-looking. However, the Aquarium was on the list of things to do, so I knew I'd be going. I just wasn't pumped about "wasting" money for me to go when I thought I could care less about it.
Well....I was so wrong. I loved the Aquarium! Now there were some parts that I would just skim past, like the river fish section - gross! it even smelled bad in there. But for the most part, I thoroughly enjoyed the Aquarium.
This girl tells every animal "no, no!" That's what she was doing here. Check out that finger! What a mess!

LOVE, LOVE this picture of Meyers and John!
Most of these pictures are terrible quality because you were not supposed to use your flash. I've actually since figured out how I could have made these better since we've been home. Oh well, maybe better pictures next time!
Speaking of ugly fish, this one was pretty funny looking!
The hammerhead shark was pretty neat to see.
I have no clue what this one was. My shark knowledge is pretty limited!

We also went to the dolphin show which was a-mazing! It was a little theatrical, but the dolphin tricks were great! You were not allowed to take pictures in there, and you were not allowed to take strollers in there. I had to take a picture of the "stroller corral". Isn't that crazy?! That poor girl had to go and find everyone's strollers with just a little number hanging off of them. Thank goodness we hightailed it to the stroller prison. I can't imagine how long we would have waited if John wasn't one of the first in line.
My days are getting confused now, but I believe we went to the Cheesecake Factory for dinner that night. It was my first time ever, and it lived up to ALL of the hype! The white chocolate caramel macadamia nut cheesecake was to die for!!!! I didn't take any pictures, though!
The next day we went to the Varsity. Like the Dwarf House, I have childhood memories of going to the Varsity, as well. My most vivid memory is going to see Santa Claus and then going to the Varsity for dinner. While we were waiting in line, a drunk Santa stumbled into the Varsity and got thrown out. Maybe not the rosiest memory, but it's pretty vivid:) Anyway, I introduced John to the Varsity when we would visit years ago, and we always make a stop anytime we are there.
Here is a picture of Meyers from her first, official visit to the Varsity. She was about 7 weeks old.
And here is the sweet girl from this visit.
That night we went to see the Laser Light Show at Stone Mountain with the rest of everyone from the metro Atlanta area. This night was kind of a hot mess. The show didn't even start until 9:30 (Meyers goes to bed at 8:00 normally), it was super hot, you had to walk a long way to get to the area to watch it, and we had a 2 year old and an 88 year old with us. It was not looking good from the get-go, but we made it. We found a sliver of an area to sit down not too long before it started. I had ideas of getting great pictures of the show and at least a few of us while we were there, but that didn't happen. Meyers sat in my lap the whole time, and we pretty much sweated all over each other. There were fireworks since it was Memorial Day, and that kind of traumatized our sweet girl. She never cried, but she just put her little fists up by her ears and kept them there for 45 minutes. Bless her heart! This picture was the only one I got while we were there. Look how sweaty she is, but she was still smiling even though it was close to 10:30 at this point.
We had so much fun on our trip to Atlanta! It was nice to go and be a tourist, as opposed to just visiting like we normally do when we are there:)
