Today

We didn't leave the house today. The thought of getting out in this heat was too much, so we stayed in.

In our pajamas.

Those days are good sometimes:)

I cleaned and vacuumed the playroom (and by clean, I mean I shuffled stuff around the room and made smaller, neater piles) and Meyers sat at her school desk and played with stickers and colored. She has just discovered stickers and LOVES them. I need to get her some more. This kept her occupied for a good little while.

Look at those sweet, little feet......

**Please ignore the ribbon coming out of the wrapping closet. It's a complete disaster in there. I did not get around to cleaning that today!!

I bought this little desk on my one and only estate shopping trip when Meyers was just a few months old. The teacher in me HAD to have this little, old school desk. I had big plans to paint it or do something to it, but now that we've had it for a while, I think I'll just leave it in all it's well-worn glory. This is the first time she has sat in it. We went to the Pottery Barn outlet the other day and she climbed right up in a little desk. This is new for us. She is not a climber. I love that she is climbing and being more adventurous and not so scared, but I get worried that she will fall!!

Anyway, since she liked that desk so much, I thought it might be time to show her this one at her very own house! It was kind of a neat moment. When I bought the desk two years ago, I had visions of her sitting at her desk coloring. I thought it would be forever before that happened and here we are. Time flies!!

I had to chuckle at this because I'm also an elementary school teacher and her father and Grandfather are administrators. I know that my little one will have A LOT of "learning opportunities" in her future- LOL

Isn't it funny how our minds are always in that teaching moment mode?
