Things you will hear Meyers saying......
- John Eason, where are you? (She hears me say this when I am asking John to come upstairs or downstairs.)
- Mommy, where are you? (She says this in the crib in the morning now. It is so sweet!)
- Mommy, hold you. (She wants me to pick her up. She has always been a mama's girl, but she is doing this more and more lately. It's like she kind of knows when this baby comes, I might not be able to pick her up all the time.)
- B! (John calls me B a lot, so Meyers has picked up on this.)
- Sound good? (I guess I say this a lot to her!)
- That be fun. (That'll be fun. She says this when we ask her if she wants to go do something.)
- Jesus nome nome (This means sing Jesus Loves Me. She speaks so clearly now, so it's so cute when when she says something funny like this.)
- You okay, mommy?
- Mommy's so cute. (I mean, doesn't every pregnant lady need to hear that everyday? Oh, it melts my heart.)
- Bye. Have fun. (She says this to John a lot when he is leaving for work.)
- Meyers sandwich (She says this when she wants us to hug with her in the middle.)
- Shocking (The news was on and my mom said that something was shocking, so Meyers picked right up on that and says it quite often.)
- Delicious
- Oh my doodness! (Oh my goodness)
- Oh, mercy me!
- I love you much. (I always tell her I love her so much. She leaves out the "so" when she tells us.)
- Lader (That's how she says later.)
- New news (She LOVES the news. She is her mama's daughter! This is what she calls it and she usually asks for it or mickey mouse in the morning.)
- I'm fine. Thank you. (She won't do this for other people, but when we ask her how she is, this is how she responds. It is so stinkin' cute!!)
- Daddy's so funny or Daddy's so silly.
- See you next time or see you tomorrow, bye bye or night night. (She says this to her toys usually when we are leaving the room.)
- Ba-locks (blocks)
- Pa-lay (play)
- Move please (at least she's polite.......)
- No, thank you (she says this a lot when I want to try something on her)
- What wassssss that? (in this very dramatic voice)
- Stay here. (when she doesn't want to leave)
- Hobby Lobby, Target, go to school (when I ask her what she wants to do)
Things she does......
- She asks us to sing ALL THE TIME. Her favorites right now are: Jesus Loves Me, Jesus Loves the Little Children, You Are My Sunshine (this used to be the only song to calm her when she was a baby and now she loves it, again), Rock-a-bye-baby, Away in a Manger, B-I-B-L-E, and a silly song I made up for her- I call it "I Love My Girl".
- She loves helping me unload the dishwasher. It takes a little longer, but it is so cute and kind of helpful.
- She loves brushing her teeth!
- She is always asking me to call people on the phone for her....usually it's John or any four of the grandparents that she wants to talk to.
- She talks about her friends all the time. She is always asking about them and telling me that they are going night night. That's what we tell her when she asks for them:)
- It is amazing how she can communicate in complete sentences now. It's like it happened overnight. She has always had a great vocabulary, but putting the words together took a little longer. I love being able to communicate with this sweet girl!
- She enjoys "playing colors". That's what she calls coloring.
- I know I might sound crazy, but she asks to do this.......I printed off some tracing letters of her name, and I help her trace her name. She calls it "making M's". We do this a lot.
- She can spell her name (most days!)
- She is good at cleaning up her toys.
- She pretends to change her babies diapers all the time complete with a diaper, wipes, and desitin.
- She pushes her grocery cart out of the room and tells me bye and that she is going to Target.
- She asks to kiss the baby all of the time, so I have to lift up my shirt and let her kiss my belly. Thankfully, she only asks to do this while we are at home:) Then she tells me how cute the baby is and that the baby is sleeping.
- She also wants to hold or touch ALL babies we see anywhere we go.....even if they are almost her size.
- I've been sewing a lot for her lately, and she always tells me she loves what I have made for her and wants to hold it (not try it on! but just hold it.)
- She loves to play with her dollhouse.
- She loves watching the Mickey Mouse Club and the toddler music channel on Comcast. It has taken nearly 2.5 years for something on TV to grab her attention. She still won't sit there for long.
- She is still a picky eater:(
- She is getting more independent and brave.
- A couple of weeks ago, she even went down the playground steps pretty much by herself. That is huge for my sweet, cautious girl that didn't walk until 22 months.
We moved Meyers to her new bed a few weeks ago. It is still a crib; she is almost 2.5, but she is not ready for a big girl bed. Some kids are, but she is not. Her crib is white, and we are doing her new "big girl" room in lavender and green, so we just got a cheap green bumper and a purple sheet (I'm going to post about all this later). She loves her new bed and always talks about her new bed. You would have thought we bought her something amazing how she talks about this new bed, new furniture, and new curtains! I thought it might be a rough transition, and maybe it will be when she sees the new baby with all of her old stuff. But.....I'm hoping that she will love her new room so much that she won't even remember her nursery things:)
She is still just as sweet as ever....even though we are halfway through our twos!
And just for kicks and giggles........
Here is Meyers at 6 months. Look how chubby!! I could eat all of those rolls!
and here she is at one and a half!
Geez......time goes by fast!
I've just started reading your blogs.Your daughter is a doll! I love how you have your precious little girls life recorded. I wish this sort of thing had been available when I was raising my children - what a wonderful thing it would be to have to look back on. I really hope that even when your new baby comes and you are busier than ever, you will still make time to make these wonderful records of their lives. God bless.
ReplyDeleteI can just hear her sweet voice saying the words you typed. I can't wait to hear our girls talking to each other. I'm glad the transition to her big girl room has gone well.
ReplyDeleteHow sweet! This made me tear up a bit:) It's funny how some of the things you said sounded just like Cash! Must be the age. She is such a sweet little girl!! Love you Meyers:)
