On Saturday, Meyers went to a Mickey Mouse birthday party at Little Gym. We did Little Gym two summers ago before Meyers was walking. We tried it to see if that might get her more motivated to get moving. It didn't. It only gave her a bazillion germs that led to her getting sick for the very first time at 15 months and then that led to three ER visits, a hospital stay, and tonsils and adnoids out.......all within a 4 month period. I'm not saying it was Little Gym's fault for all of that. I'm just saying that there are a bazillion germs there and it led to her getting sick the first time. We only went 4 times, and then never went back. But after that first time of getting sick, it's like we couldn't shake any germs. She just kept getting sick.
Anyway, my friend, Tiffaney, knows about all of this, so she told me that it would not hurt her feelings if Meyers didn't come to her daughter's party. I told her that, of course, we were coming to the party. I was curious to see what Meyers would think of Little Gym now that she was older, AND it was a Mickey Mouse party, AND she is at the age where she "gets" birthday parties, so we went to celebrate with her friends.
Oh, and Mickey Mouse was there. I knew that this would be a really great thing or a really bad thing:)
A picture of Meyers after I got her death grip legs off of me. She didn't cry, but she wanted to stay a nice, safe distance from Mickey.
Only shot I could get of her remotely close to Mickey. Again, I'm just glad she didn't cry!
Check out the birthday girl and Mickey. She is getting down to the hot dog dance, I think.
Mickey eventually left, which was good because John and I were both getting tired of holding her! Then they played with the parachute. She kind of liked this, but did not want to go underneath it when they let them. She just stood back and watched the rest of the kids.
My little rule follower sitting on the white line like they told them to. She was not real sure what was going on when they started inflating this thing.
When she realized it was for some more jumping, she was okay with it as long as John was there.
After a little bit, she was ready to get off. She just sat down and watched the kids and clapped for them. My sweet girl!
After the Little Gym part was over, it was birthday time. Tiffaney always decorates so cute for her daughter's parties with all kinds of extra touches. I didn't get any pictures of all the cute stuff because the party room was tiny, and me and my pregnant belly did not quite fit in there:) Meyers was fascinated with the balloon on the back of the chair. It's the little things, right?
Cash is so scared of hose things too! It's amazing how it doesn't affect some kids, but freaks others out!!
