Date Night - Memphis

I always say that for us, there was something about adding a second child to our family that made date nights much more of a necessity. Life is just more simple with one child. We went out when it was just Meyers, but I didn't feel like we had to get out as often to reconnect and recharge. Since having Emery, we get out kid free about once a month/6 weeks. I'm so thankful that both sets of grandparents want to watch our kids, and think it's important for us to get out, as well. It's so nice not having to pay for a sitter, and it's so nice to know that family is watching your children.

Last night, we went to dinner and the Orpheum with our friends, Melissa and David. We had planned to go to Local to eat, but there was a 40 minute wait, and we didn't have the time to wait. I was so bummed because I had been looking forward to crab stuffed avocados and a blondie brownie with bacon ALL week! We ended up eating at Bosco's. It was good, but I'd much rather have been eating at Local.

We saw Memphis the Musical at the Orpheum. It was so good! It was a neat night to see it because the creators of the show were there, one of which is a guy from Bon Jovi. It was so interesting that two guys from New Jersey created this show about Memphis because of music from this city that inspired them. Very cool.

I think the Orpheum is so beautiful! I love going there. This picture does not show how gorgeous these walls are!

This is my "I'm excited the seats I picked are good!" face:)
Melissa and I loved the show, and the guys said it was good, which I think means that they didn't just tolerate it for us, but actually enjoyed themselves a little:) Any time I see a show, it always makes me want season tickets. So I'll be working on talking John into that next!
