Busy Day

***I'm blogging from my phone in my bed because I'm too tired to go in the office. These pictures are in no particular order because I can't figure out how to do that on my new phone!

We are about a week behind decorating for Christmas. We usually do it about two weeks before Thanksgiving. Yes. We are those people. We love our house when it's all decorated for Christmas, so we like to start early so we can enjoy it longer.

So today we decorated the house, and I finished the two things that I wanted to make this Christmas: an advent calendar and our Christmas stockings. Several of my friends made advent calendars a couple of years ago. I knew that Meyers was too young for that then, but this year she is old enough to get into it. I've been stealing advent calendar ideas for each day from blogs for two years now. I still need to come up with a few that are appropriate for a 2 year old to fill up all 25 days. I am so excited about this calendar!!! And I'm so excited that I was able to make it for about $12! That was very exciting!

I knew we would need new stockings this year because we like to go ahead and put one up for the new baby, and we obviously only had three. I was so excited to make new ones in fun, Christmas colors! These were pretty easy to make after I made a few adjustments with the lining.

These were the only crafty things I knew I would want to do this year.......but now I'm kind of itching to sew a new tree skirt that will match our stockings. We'll see if I get around to that or not!

This is the first year that we've let Meyers help us decorate. In the past we've always done it during her nap. She was sooooooo cute helping us decorate the tree. She "loved" every ornament and was pretty careful putting them on the tree. I didn't get any pictures of her actually decorating. I had my camera right there and everything, but I was too "in the moment" watching her enjoy Christmas decorating. I'm so excited to see Christmas through her eyes this year!
