Rocking Horse and Birthday Party

This was my rocking horse when I was little. It may have been my brother's, too. Not sure. But I'm the one with the infamous picture of me (when I was probably Meyers's age) riding it when I was naked, straight out of the bathtub one night. My mom even put it in our wedding slideshow video.

My mom has been keeping it up in the attic. She thought it might be something the grandkids could play on, but it's not quite up to today's safety standards and it's kind of broken.

My mom wanted us to come over and get some pictures of Meyers on it before they threw it out.

Meyers was a little unsure of it at first, but then she warmed up to it!

My mom is looking for the picture of me on it, so I can have it to compare. I'll have to post that when she finds it. After we left my parent's house, we went to a Minnie Mouse birthday party on a farm for Meyers's friend, Peyton. Meyers is at the age where she won't stop talking about an event until she gets to go to it. Obviously she can't quite understand the concept of time yet. She had been talking about Peyton's party for three weeks!

Meyers (like her mama) is not a huge animal fan, so I wondered how she would do at the party. She had fun running around for a bit.

Then her and her friend, Cannon, went to look at some of the animals. Cannon is such a funny kid. Meyers just stares at him because he's so funny! I love the way she is looking at him!

They both jumped back pretty quickly when this pony wanted to check them out!

All of the other kids liked petting the bunnies, but Meyers was content to stand back and pat Peyton:)

After the animal part, they got to go inside and jump in the bounce house. Meyers has never been in one. Usually when we go to places with them, there are a lot of bigger kids in there. I thought this would be perfect for her first time since all of the kids there were right around her age. You can tell by her face that she is not a fan!!! I had to put this picture in here to document her first and probably last time (for a while) in a bounce house!

After the bounce house, we went on a hayride. Meyers liked that a lot!

Then it was time for birthday cake. Isn't this cake precious?? I am thinking about a Minnie party for Meyers since she is pretty obsessed with Mickey and Minnie these days.

They had a Minnie Mouse pinata. I've never seen one where you pull the strings. That is probably the best idea ever for little ones. I can only imagine the injuries if it were the old school kind:)

Meyers thought the candy thing was pretty neat.

Her mouth is blue in this picture, but you can't really tell. She was loving the candy......a lot!

Meyers and the precious birthday girl! I love that Meyers is getting to the age where she "gets" birthday parties and looks forward to them. It's so cute. I feel like up until now, she has just been along for the ride, but she had so much fun at the party, and we enjoyed ourselves, too:)
