Warning: this is a random, babbling post about Meyers and the potty.
I needed to make a hobby lobby run this morning. I help decorate my church for Christmas, so there are a few things that I needed to get there so that we can finish up before Sunday.
Meyers has been on an antibiotic since last Monday. I'm sure y'all know what an antibiotic can do to little tummies, so I'm not going to get graphic and explain it to you. And we've been potty training for a month and a half now. I think I can officially say she is potty trained; she isn't having accidents.......until you throw an antibiotic into the picture. Bless her heart. The first 4 or 5 days were terrible. She couldn't tell us or get to the potty fast enough. I can't tell you how many pairs of panties we've thrown away. That may sound wasteful, but cleaning them is not worth it to me. So, we haven't really left the house in over a week. We did go celebrate thanksgiving, but we were at our parents, so that made cleaning up things a little less stressful. I kind of feel like we are back in the first week of potty training when I didn't feel like I could leave the house because there was sure to be an accident.
Oh, and to add to this delightful time, our downstairs toilet is broken. It's a long story that involves me flushing the tp holder down the toilet. A good portion of each day is spent downstairs, so I've been cleaning the little potty out every time she makes it to the potty. Our handyman is coming this week to put in a new toilet. Thank goodness!
Since Meyers's cold has finally gone away (thanks to the antibiotics that are causing a plethora of new problems)
I sent her to school yesterday with a bag full of extra clothes and panties. You want to know how that turned out? No accidents. In fact, she didn't even go at all until I came to pick her up (she only went to school for 3 hours. I picked her up after lunch. ) Isn't that crazy? Oh and the day before, she went to the bathroom 8 times and made it to the potty every time!!!
Well, today is a different story. She's gone 3 times as of 10:45 this morning and has only made it to the potty one time. I know she can't help it. I mean sometimes even adults can't make it to the bathroom in situations like this, but geez, I am so tired of cleaning up poop. And I know she is equally as tired of pooping all the time. Whoops! I just got graphic!
**correction: I just had to stop typing this because she just went again. So that's 4 times this morning, and she made it to the potty in time!!!!!!! Yay meyers!!! Unfortunately, we are downstairs, so that meant cleaning up the little potty:( but at least I didn't have to throw away another pair of panties!
You know what's funny about this? Before she started this medicine, she has had no poop accidents. I've been telling people how awesome it's been to not have to clean up poop during this whole potty training process and silently praying please don't let her catch a stomach bug until she is further along in the potty training. I totally forgot how antibiotics can wreck your stomach!
So since we are 2 and 2 with accidents and making it to the potty today, we are not leaving the house. I had thought Meyers would stay in her pjs all day.......until she had her accident. So I got her dressed. She is wearing a cozy Walmart turtleneck and her red polka-dotted pants that I made her last year. They are play clothes now because I bought some Just Ducky ones just like them from a friend.
**correction: I just had to stop typing this again because she had to go again, but she made it to the potty!!
That's 5 times now as of 11:00 am. See why I'm not leaving the house today:)

Her face is cracking me up! She's so stinkin cute!
