What Meyers Wore Wednesday

Meyers had an appointment with her allergist this morning. It was just a check-up, but it was perfect timing because we've been doing breathing treatments since Monday. She has done this about 4 times since fall has started. I was thinking it was the weather, but he said it was just viral, which brings me back to where I was last fall and the beginning of the year.......being paranoid of every child's runny nose. I've learned over the last year that just a runny nose for another child, is not necessarily just a runny nose for Meyers. If a child without asthma gets a little cold or a virus, then it will probably run it's course, but for Meyers it turns into her struggling to breath and breathing treatments every 4 hours.

Her doctor prescribed a steroid for this little cold she has.....the cold I had no idea existed. And bumped up her flovent from once a day to twice a day until we go in for our next check-up.

So.....I'm not really sure how I feel right now. Because of her history (several ER visits, a hospital stay, and tonsillectomy), I know I have every right to be overly protective of her, but I don't want her or us to live in a bubble. One of the many reasons being a parent is hard......

Moving on, Meyers pottied in the staff bathroom at the doctor's office per a sweet nurse that said we could use it, but not to tell anyone SHE said we could. I know this office sees all ages, but seriously.....you expect me to trek all the way from our room through the waiting room to the bathroom in the hallway with my potty training 2.5 year old????? I'm a rule follower, but I sure did break the "staff only" rule. I know, I'm such a rebel:)

We left the doctor, and I asked Meyers where she wanted to go. She said "hobby lobby". Can you tell we go there a lot? So we went there, and walked around for a bit. We left and I knew Meyers probably needed to potty again, so I put her on the car potty in the back of the SUV, and she pottied. Yay, Meyers!

Then I decided to run to the dollar store for a minute. We had been there maybe 10 minutes, and Meyers said she needed to potty. Ugghh! She had just pottied. But we left our cart and went into one of the nastiest bathrooms. It was right up there with a nasty, truck stop bathroom in podunk nowhere. I will probably have nightmares about that bathroom for a while! But she pottied, so I was happy for that.

Now we are home and are both about to take naps!

Meyers wore this sweet, fairy Shrimp and Grits outfit today. I think at least 10 people told her how cute she looked! I agree:)
