I Did It!

I got out with both girls today and went to Target. It only took us about an hour and fifteen minutes to get out of the house, and I didn't even shower! I almost gave up and didn't go, but I'm glad I did. It boosted my confidence and got us all out of these four walls, which is good for everybody!

As soon as I walked in Target, I realized I forgot Meyers's potty seat. She had just gone, so I was hoping she'd be okay. We went around Target and got everything we needed. I only needed like 3 more things, and Meyers said she needed to potty! We made it to the restroom, and I planned to hold her over it. I figured she wouldn't go for that, and she didn't. She started crying, and it was really pitiful. ***Meyers has been having some potty regression. I fully expected this to happen, but had hoped it wouldn't.***

Since we've been potty training, I usually take her out in plastic panties to make it easier on me just in case, but she usually never has accidents. So she had her plastic panties on, and I told her it was my fault for forgetting the potty seat, and that I really wish she could hold it until we could get to the car, but it's okay if she can't. I loaded everybody back in the cart, and I got the last few things I needed and checked out. I asked her if she still needed to go when we got to the car. I figured she had tee teed in her panties, but she said she needed to go. Would you believe that she had not had an accident and went a lot?? She held it while we finished at Target! I was so proud and slightly frustrated at the same time! She has been having a lot of accidents at home! It's so confusing to me that she held it at Target, but can't at home. Strange! But I was super happy I didn't have a mess to clean up!

Now Emery is asleep on me, and Meyers is eating lunch, and my house is so quiet! So nice!

A few random things about Emery and me:

Emery has been doing so much better! She is like a different baby now that she has figured out how to poop:) It has been an amazing difference! So I'm guessing she did not have colic..... I was praying yesterday and thanking Jesus for my healthy girls, Emery finally being able to poop on a regular basis, and for all the people that have colicky babies right now! Screaming babies can take a toll on you!

Emery slept in her pack n play for about 6 hours last night! That is huge because this girl likes to be held while she sleeps. Meyers was the same way, so I knew we weren't causing permanent habits by letting her sleep on John's chest, but we want this girl to learn how to sleep on her own. It makes me so nervous with her sleeping on John, but it was the only way any of us got ANY sleep. You do what you have to do! We swaddled her last night, and that seemed to work! Meyers didn't like having her arms swaddled, but Emery seems to like it. I picked up two more swaddle me blankets while I was at Target! So excited that this girl might be moving into her room soon:)

I got pretty excited for myself today, too. I have on a pair of regular Seven jeans (not a size 7 for anyone who might be confused that I could actually fit into a size 7). They are zipped, but not buttoned. I am still wearing that ab band thing from my c section. That thing is kind of bulky, so I probably could have buttoned them if I wasn't wearing it. But it makes me feel better to wear it.....at least for a little while longer. Fitting back in your clothes after a baby is SO exciting! It took a little longer with Meyers to get back in my clothes, especially my cute jeans, so I'm pretty pumped!

So.....it's a good day at the Eason house:)
