Emery - you are one month old today! It's gone so fast and so slow at the same time! It's funny how time does that.
You weigh a little over 8 pounds according to our scale. We go to the doctor tomorrow for your check-up, so I'll see how much they say you weigh.
You are still in newborn diapers, but you are ready for size ones. We will move you up as soon as we run out of newborns here in the next few days.
Your belly button cord fell off at 8 days.
You are wearing all newborn size clothing except for gowns and those are 0-3 months.
You eat 4 ounces of formula every three hours during the day, and we let you stretch it at night. Sometimes you will go 4-4.5 hours without a bottle at night, and sometimes you can only go 3 hours between feedings at night.
You are a little bit of a "spitter-upper". Meyers was, too. But you are a "happy spitter" just like her; it doesn't seem to bother you.
You love to be swaddled! I am so glad we started that because it has helped you sleep (Your sister didn't love it, so we figured you wouldn't either. We were wrong). You have been sleeping in the pack n play in our room for about a week and a half now. Before that, you were only sleeping at night if we were holding you. I think we will move you to your room soon.
Your screaming fits have stopped. You are still a little fiesty sometimes, but what we thought was colic was just you needing to poop. Thank goodness you figured that out! You feel so much better now that you are a regular pooper:)
White noise calms you down. Thank goodness I have it on my itunes on my phone. We keep it playing a lot around here:)
The only "toy" you like to sit in is the Rainforest Bouncer.
You like to be out and about just like your sister did and does.
You like to sleep in your carseat.
Your hair has a red tint to it, and your eyes are dark blue. Meyers's were more of a gray blue when she was born and stayed that way for over a year. Your eyes are not light, but are definitely bluer than Meyers eyes were when she was born.
I know you are sticking your tongue out, but this picture looked more "like you" than any other picture I took this morning.
You weren't really smiling here, but you kind of look like you are a little:)
Meyers at one month.
I don't think you look anything like your sister according to these pictures, but I do when I look at your sweet face. We are so happy to have had you in our lives for a month now. I know time will start flying from here, and that makes me sad a little:)
I love you, Emery!
Happy One Month Birthday!
I miss her already! She is so beautiful just like her sister.
