This is the only picture I got of Meyers on her actual birthday. We went to storytime with some friends, and they gave her a little present and a birthday crown. Meyers loved the bag.

A friend of mine gave me the great idea to do a "big" birthday party every other year. So I have embraced that idea. This year was just a small, family party. I decided the theme would be pink and green since I had a cute pink and green bubble with presents on it for Meyers to wear.

I was able to use a lot of her decorations from last year and from random things I had laying around the house.

This Pinkalicious book was the guest book for everyone to sign with birthday wishes. I pretty much copied several things from my
friend's daughter's party a couple of years ago. Why reinvent the wheel:) My mom made the cupcakes. They tasted great and looked so fancy like at the cupcake stores.

We had Meyers's favorite foods ( just realized I didn't take pictures of the food!)...Memphis Pizza Cafe, apple slices, pretzels, veggie straws, goldfish and dill dip with carrots and pasta salad (not her favorite foods).

I really thought she would be into the presents this year. Not so much.

Nanny gave her money, but wanted her to have something to open, too. So she wrapped up tortillas and cheese....you know, for quesadilla (Meyers loves quesadillas). How funny is that?

This is her making a get-away to her zebra. Thanks, Lainey! You were here in spirit with the zebra:)

This is what she wanted to be doing while her daddy unwrapped her presents.

I have been singing "Happy Birthday" to her for a few months now. I wanted her to know what was going on and really be excited when everyone sang to her on her birthday. Well...that was a terrible idea. Look at her face...she looks terrified. She always likes it when I sing it, but I sing really upbeat. We decided she probably got a little freaked out because everyone was singing and "Happy Birthday" can sound kind of depressing when you sing it slow.

Once again...not a fan of the cupcakes. I think it was just all too much for her.

Can't believe her birthday is over, and she is officially two!!
She's turned in to such the perfect mix of you two!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday, sweet girl! Wish we could celebrate with you! Your present is still not in the mail...you will come to learn that your Aunt Jenn is AWFUL at getting things to the post office. :) Pink and green is clearly how the cool girls celebrate their 2nd birthdays!
Did not see any photos of Uncle Brian....Where's Uncle Brian?
ReplyDeleteLet me say, the Ultimate Cheese Pizza and Nanny's birthday present was my favorite part of the day!!!!
